Cossacks map: Novigrad
Description: Novigrad was a fortified camp built by the vizier Mehmed Pasha in Ukraine.
It was a well-fortified camp and defended by well-trained soldiers.
The main strength of the camp consisted of Janissaries and a large number of Spahis.
The common troops that the Sultan sent to help were of little combat value.
The camp was also guarded by Tartars. There were not many of them - their number was max. 300 men max.
Now perhaps about the Polish army, which wanted to capture the camp at all costs:
The army was commanded by Colonel Krzysztof Opalinski.
His army was supported by:
-the Zaporozhian army (number unknown)
-and foreign infantry (most probably German)
The cavalry was not very numerous: a few Hussar flags, light cavalry and registered Cossacks.
