Cossacks map: Battle near Kluszyn
Description: Battle near Kluszyn in 1610.
"Hello!
This time I have the pleasure to make available to you the battle of Kircholm, when Hetman Zolkiewski smashed.... beat π to pieces a 35,000-strong army coming to the relief of Smolensk (Polish imperialism, hehehe).
Not everything is as it really is, units can be discussed, etc. but tell me, isn't it ridiculous for the Poles to have 3 types of cavalry at their disposal (in the game)???? I have arranged everything so that the playability is as high as possible and the difficulty level is high (but so that it is possible to win, but whether it is possible I do not know ;-)). I dragged the Russian camps a bit on top, and ignored the later set fire to the fence dividing the battlefield.
Units, terrain, map, etc. are compiled according to Jerzy Besala's book "Wielki Hetmani Rzeczypospolitej". And now a short explanation: I have not used 100% real units. Below is a list of units and their equivalents:
-German mercenaries - Prussian Riders
-commanders of cavalry units - 18th century cuirassiers (not every unit has a commander)
-Zolkiewski - Ukrainian Hetman (in the middle, behind the Light Riders)
-Registered Cossacks - unfortunately, it should be infantry, but since there isn't any it's probably for the best (I tried a mix of Russians, Turks, Serdiukovs and Ukrainian peasants, but it's better not to talk....
- the priests and part of the army sit in the camp; the camp on the right is that of the Russians, on the left - that of the French-Swedish mercenary army (Pontus de la Gardie ;-)).
- The infantry emerging from the bottom is the infantry that got stuck in the mud. In addition, they had to pull two phalkonets (in my case, multi-barrelled guns, i.e. CKMs ;-)) out of the mud, but they made it in time
Poles - ~2000, more troops (hussars, light cavalry, dragoons and Cossacks are present)
Russian mercenaries - almost 3000, many 196 personal infantry units, quite a lot of cavalry
Kluszyn & surroundings - Russian villages with a mill, huts and markets, as well as an Orthodox church
The file kluszyn.m3d should be copied to the main folder of Cossacks.
In the game, choose Single player/Random map/Designed map and select kircholm.m3d from the list.
Have fun!"
