The film Alexander, as was the usual perception at the time, could not be without a game. UbiSoft, the publisher, chose GSC Game World to create a strategy for the Hollywood super-production. With limited development time and the freedom of the developer, Alexander was a pure industrial work.

The Warlocks project hit a dead end, but the experience gained and the world Ilya Novak put on paper meant another IP created by GSC Game World. Heroes of Annihilated Empires became a genre hybrid of strategy and role-playing, which may sound strange at first glance, but it worked gameplay-wise. However, it has major problems with its story: we are dropped into the story in an in medias res fashion, we don’t really get to know the world or the characters, but the conflict in question eventually comes to a conclusion – it seems that this was only intended to be a first episode. But there was no sequel…

WarCraft 2000: Nucler Epidemic was GSC Game World’s second project, but at least it was finished after DoomQuest. The non-commercial creation had one mission: to convince the game industry that Ukrainian developers were on the up and up, and they had a big dream of making the upcoming sequel to WarCraft. The ambition failed, but it wasn’t in vain – the guys got noticed by the industry, Cossacks came along and from then on it was history. And WarCraft 2000: Nuclear Epidemic is a milestone they had to share with us.
