Cossacks map: Chocim 1673
Description: This map re-creates the glorious victory of Polish, Wallachian, Moldavian and Lithuanian forces (blue) over the Turks (teal). Chocim was a Polish fortress occupied by Turks. The Turkish army had marched from Adrianopol(today Edirne). Polish forces came from Hrubieszow, Gliniany, Skwarzow and Lwow. Polish forces next went to Tremblowia to gather Lithuanian forces. Turkish general was Hussein Pasha, and Polish king Jan III Sobiezki. Sobieski chose to attack the strongest point in Chocim and his forces overwhelmed the Turks, his winged lancers driving the Jannisaries and others into flight across the Dniepr. A glorious Polish victory. 4-person proxy-battle, open map.
