DESCRIPTION (from the developer):
MOD HH 17c was created for the game “Cossacks Art of War”, whose creator is the Ukrainian group GSC. Here I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart for creating such a great game, and for providing development tools and help in writing this MOD.
I have tried, within the existing possibilities provided by the Cossacks game engine, to render as faithfully as possible, according to my knowledge of 17th century military history, the struggles of the armies of this period.
If you love history and as a young (or a little older) boy you devoured successive volumes of Sienkiewicz’s Trilogy, dreaming of being a commander leading a hussar to charge at the fire-breathing quadrupeds of Swedish infantry … play MOD HH 17c.
If you have read descriptions of the battles of the Thirty Years’ War and would like to like Gustavus Adolphus smash the imperial armies into dust…play MOD HH 17c
If you would like to feel like the leader of a 17th century army of one of the 18 nations present in my MOD HH…play MOD HH 17c
Nations available in MOD 17c HH:
- Algeria
- England
- Austria
- Bavaria
- Denmark
- France
- Spain
- Netherlands
- Piedmont
- Poland
- Portugal
- Prussia
- Russia
- Saxony
- Transylvania
- Scotland
- Sweden
- Türkiye
- Ukraine
- Venice
DEVELOPERS DIARY
For the first time I saw this wonderful game, actually a DEMO at a friend’s house from college…I saw the charging hussars and my childhood emotions about the Trilogy and its heroes were awakened in me….
In the first half of 2001 for the first time I played Cossacks EW, the then version 1.15 – I played a little in single player mode, a little in the campaign and forgot about Cossacks…. I remembered the game again at the end of the year, when I installed a permanent Internet connection in my house. I played online well and it began. Soon I came across the best Polish site about this game (http://kozacy.in4.pl), enlisted in the ranks of the Polish community of lovers of this game and began the Cossack adventure, which lasts to this day.
Months passed, various wars were fought in the Cossacks world, as a clan chancellor [RP] I shed impressionable blood in the battles of “Cossacks Clan at WAR”, later in the ranks of the most prominent Polish clan Ferro et Igni [FEI] I fought in both editions of Neverlandia.
Over time, GSC (the game’s developers) released more and improved versions of Cossacks. First there was the “Art of War” add-on (1.29), then a completely separate game, not yet released in Poland, “Cossacks back to war” (1.35). In March 2002 Baddog released its famous MOD1 for Cossacks with many new units and animations….
And yet, something was increasingly missing from the game for me…certain things began to bother me, such as the not-so-realistic commodity trading. Together with a group of clan friends, we played MOD1, inventing more and more new rules to make the gameplay as realistic as possible.
In the spring of 2003 the idea came up – I’ll make my own MOD, one that, based on the existing game code, would reflect the realities of 17th-century militarism as realistically as possible.
The developers of the game were kind enough to provide me with the necessary programming tools for making changes and creating MODs. And so began my work on MOD HH….
